Birth: Jun. 10, 1950
Death: Feb. 6, 2011
Alyceann (Simon) Klinker, 61, of Fairfield, died of cancer Feb. 6 at her home in Fairfield.
Her memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairfield, with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church after the burial. Croxford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surrounded by her loving family, Alyceann passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at her home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Alyceann was born Jan. 10, 1950, to Vernon and Marian Simon in Mandan, N.D., where she attended elementary school. In 1960, her family moved to Glendive, where she continued her education. In 1962, they moved to Billings, Mont., where she graduated from Senior High in 1968. Following high school she went on to further her education at Eastern Montana College and during the summer months worked as a tour guide in Yellowstone National Park.
On May 22, 1971, Alyceann married Norman Klinker in Billings. She joined Norman in building their farm in Fairfield, where they raised their three sons and farmed until her passing.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Some of her hobbies included woodworking, stained- glass windows, landscaping, gardening, skiing, sewing, and helping on the farm. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years and was involved in the PTA. In 2002, after her children were grown and left home, she pursued a nursing degree at MSU-Great Falls COT. Alyceann never backed down from a challenge and was a creative and adventurous person with a "can do" attitude.
Alyceann is survived by her devoted husband Norman Klinker; children, David (Naomi) Klinker, Bryan Klinker and Kevin (Stephanie) Klinker; and grandchildren, Katelynn and Kyle Klinker, all of Fairfield; her mother, Marian (Lenard) Joki of Billings; siblings, Rick (Donna) Simon of Lake Stevens, Wash., Vicki (Nick) Scavuzzo of Kingman, Ariz., and Renee (Larry) Rohrbaugh of Billings; stepmothers, Emily Simon of Billings and Sharon Simon of Mesa, Ariz.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Simon; and brothers, Vernon Jr. "Butch" Simon and Alan Simon.
We will never forget her, nor the last time we saw her, as she prepared for her journey and "slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God."
Memorials in her name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Fairfield.
