Olevia (Wahl) Burkhart's parents were Peter and Magdalena (Letzelter) 1854-1924 Wahl. The Wahl farm in Center Township was the site of producing oil wells in 1900's. I have more.   [S927] Obituary. urkhart, Michael N. Source--Monroe County Beacon Woodsfield, Ohio Published--April 27, 1995 Burkhart, Michael N. Jr., 76, of 48663 Keylor Hill Road, Woodsfield, died April 19, 1995 at his home following several months of illness. He was born near Woodsfield on August 2, 1918, a son of the late Michael N. and Olevia Wahl Burkhart. He attended a small elementary school (Johnson) near his home and Woodsfield High School. He was a graduate of Ohio State University, Columbus, where he had earned a full free scholarship in Agriculture and graduated with high honors. He was a farmer and was awarded the Future Farmers of America State Farmer Degree in 1936. He was a lifelong Catholic and attended Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Miltonsburg and Saint Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield. Surviving are his wife, Bertha Christman Burkhart, whom he married on October 15, 1941; five sons, Chet and his wife Janet of Columbus, Michael III and his wife Judith of Marion, Dan and his wife Marianne of Marion, Steve and his wife Diane of Woodsfield and Damian and his wife Linda of Pickerington; six daughters, Chiquita Seesan and husband Thomas of Massillon, Dr. Jennifer Burkhart of Pittsburgh, Jane Obenauf and husband, Roger of Lima, Carol Hess and her husband, Gerard of Columbus, Lisa Larey and her husband Mark of Royal Arkansas and Edie Busby and husband Paul of Morgantown; two brothers, Francis and John, both of Columbus; a sister, Edith Plesia of Columbus and 21 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Lee Burkhart and a brother, Arthur Burkhart. Friends were received April 21 at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Funeral liturgy with Mass was celebrated April 22 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Miltonsburg. Vigil service was held April 21. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey (Monroe County Chapter), Post Office Box 1537, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
