Her obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 3 Mar 1961:
WOODSFIELD - Miss Philomena (Minnie) Weisend, 81,
of Columbus, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at the home of her
niece, Mrs. Marie Bott, in Woodsfield where she had resided
for the past week after suffering a fall at her home.
She was born Dec 22, 1879, in Monroe County, the
daughter of Peter and Mary Burkhart Weisend, and lived
for many years in Columbus.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Celia Smithberger of
Canton and Mrs. Katie Brooks of Woodsfield, and one
brother, Andy, of Barnesville.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the St.
Sylvester Catholic church here with the Rev. Fr. Robert
Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
The body will be taken from the Brubach Funeral Home
at Summerfield to the Gardner Funeral Home at Woods-
field Saturday at noon where friends may call.
The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Home
