  BIOGRAPHY: Notes for ALBERT GERARD WEIS: Albert fought in World War II and landed on Normandy Beach. He was among the first waves of soldiers that came ashore. The Germans did not shoot at first because they thought the American troops were just a decoy. However, when some of the soldiers started to scale the cliff, the Germans began firing. Albert and the others ran for cover. Albert found a bulldozer and hid behind the front plate. BIOGRAPHY: Source: Joseph L.
