  Had a saloon at 8th and State (probably southeast corner). Then managed "hill house" at the top of the Eight Street Incline which is now Queens Tower. At the saloon you could buy a beer and get a free sandwich. Maggie (Margaret) and Ida both cooked there. Eugene listed his occupation as "Teamster" on his marriage license. Eugene was 25 years old when he married Maggie. Eugene died of hemophilic hemorage on December 12, 1916 at St. Mary's Hospital. The result of an appendectomy. His occupation at the time of death was listed as Saloon Keeper. Death cert. page 5582, 1916.
