Joseph Burkhart
Joseph Burkhart, 94, of 56888 Temperanceville Highway, Barnesville, died Sunday in Barnesville Hospital. He was born July 25, 1894 in Temperanceville, a son of the late Peter and Sara Jeffries Burkhart.He was a retired coal miner, a Protestant, and a veteran of World War I. He was also a member of the Barnesville DAV.He was preceded in death by a brother, Clem Burkhart; four sisters, Ida Watson, Victoria DeLong, Anna Cater, and Emma Gallagher Doudna.Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Harper Burkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Homer (Evelyn) Price of Temperanceville; several nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home, Barnesville, Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be hald at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Larry Aslow officiating. Burial follows in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, with militry graveside services.
