Gertler (nee Zerger)Source: The Monroe County Beacon, Woodsfield, Ohio, March 1949Mrs. Mary Louise Zerger Gertler, 81, former resident of Beallsville, died Thursday night, March 31st, at 11:30 o?clock at her home, 354 East Beechwold Blvd., Columbus, following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Gertler widow of John Gertler, prominent Beallsville merchant, left the Beallsville community two years ago. She was a member of the Beallsville chapter of Eastern Star and the Woodsfield Rebekah Lodge and the Beallsville Presbyterian Church.Surviving are two sons, Dr. W. V. Gertler, of Coshocton, Ohio and C. E. Gertler, of Columbus, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. John (Minnie) Decker, of East Liverpool, Ohio; Mrs. A. L. (Anna) Salazar, of Huntington Park, California; Mrs. Whitney (Salena) Crawford, of Detroit, Michigan, and Miss Viola Gertler, at home; two brothers, J. W. Zerger, of Hopedale, Ohio, and Phillip Zerger, of Woodsfield; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.The body was brought to the lowers and Campbell funeral home in Beallsville Saturday noon.Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at one o?clock in the Beallsville Presbyterian Church.
