  [S927] Obituary. George J. Miller, of 708 Vine St., Martins Ferry, ill from September but critical for two days, died at 9:20 o'clock, Friday night at his home. He was a carpenter by trade. He had resided in Martins Ferry for the past eighteen years, going there from Woodsfield. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry, of the Alter Society of that congregation and the Purgatorial Society of Woodsfield. He was also a member of the Martins Ferry Eagles, No. 456. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Vernonica Wahl Miller; four daughters, Mrs. Leo R. Burkhart, of Woodsfield; Mrs. Raymond Smith, of Zanesville; Mrs. Roderick Englemeer, of St. Clairsville, and Miss Loretta Miller, at home; two sons, Paul W. Miller, of Brookside and George J. Miller, Jr., of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Wahl and Mrs. Elizabeth Dougherty, both of Akron; and three brothers, John Miller, of Middletown, Ohio; Charles Miller, of Arlington, VA, and Jerome Miller, of St. Clairsville. There are nine grandchildren. Brief Funeral services will be held at 8:45 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home, followed by High Mass of Requiem at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's Church. Rev. Vincent Schiele will be celebrant. Burial will be in Union cemetery at St. Clairsville.
