Matz, 49, of Roanoke, Virginia, and formerly of London and Orrville, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 14, 2004.He was born Dec. 11, 1954, in Orrville, the son of Wilfred and Dortha Matz.He was an employee of Advance Auto Parts in Corporate Logistics and was a former employee of Volvo in Greensboro, N.C. He was a former Cub Master of Pack 102 in London. He attended the Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. He was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan.Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Brenner Matz, whom he married July 20, 1985; sons, Dylan A. and Logan A.; parents, Wilfred and Dortha Matz of Dalton; a brother, Don (Fran) Matz of Dalton; sisters, Linda (Donis) Kirk of Orrville and Carol (Blaine) Immel of Wooster; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Max.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Elia Kahrig, paternal grandparents, Harry and Clara Matz and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and June Brenner.The family will receive friends Monday, May 17 from 7-9 p.m. at Oakey?s East Chapel, 5188 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24019.Funeral services will be held at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday, May 19 at 1 p.m. with the family receiving friends one-half hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Road Mountain Rescue Squad.
