Thevis, 85, who died Monday, January 14, 2008 at 3:55 a.m. Miss Thevis was a native and lifelong resident of the Maxie Community. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Fr. Joseph T. Sai Tran, Pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Mausoleum in Mowata. Survivors include four sisters, Sister Agnes Leonard Thevis, C.P.D. of Eunice, Annie J. Thevis, Louise H. Thevis and Dorothy A. Thevis all of Crowley; one brother, Leonard G. Thevis of Crowley. Miss Thevis was preceded in death by her parents, Peter L. and Maria Agnes Ronkartz Thevis; two brothers, John J. Thevis and Lawrence V. Thevis.
