Francis J. HeftSource: The Monroe County Beacon, Woodsfield, Ohio, May 1999Francis J. Heft, 87, 45554 Ohio 145, Lewisville, Ohio, died ay 14, 1999 at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was born at Lewisville on October 11, 1911, a son of the late Lewis and Minnie Christman Heft.He was a graduate of Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, was a retired school teacher having taught in various schools throughout Monroe County, Ohio for more than 30 years; was a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives serving Monroe County for eight terms. He was a member of St. Paul?s United Church of Christ, Woodsfield and was a former Sunday School Superintendent at the former St. Peter?s United Church of Christ in Lewisville. He was also a very active member of the Ohio Republican Party.Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Vivian Harper Heft, whom he married on February 5, 1938; three daughters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Bartilson of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Kenneth(Nina) Grigsby, of Canyon Lake, Texas, Mrs. Neil (Marjorie) Frankl of Park Hills, Kentucky; two sons, David Heft and his wife, Janet of Kailu-Kona, Hawaii, Eric Heft and his wife, Nicki of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Catherine Heft of Englewood; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Melba) Reich of Jerusalem, Ohio; three brothers, William Heft and his wife, b of Clearwater, Florida, Stanley Heft and his wife, of Aurora; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Harper Heft, in 1937; a daughter, Joan Heft, in 1937; a son, Karl Heft on April 14, 1999; a sister, Bessie Sutherland; two brothers, Theodore and Paul Heft.Friends were received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on May 19. Friends then received at St. Paul?s United Church of Christ, Woodsfield, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., May 20 with Pastor Donald Rock officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey, Monroe County Unit, P. O. Box 1537, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
