Burkhart Dies - Anthony Joseph Burkhart, 78, Dies at Woodsfield Rest Home, Sunday, January 21 following a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Temperanceville and was born in Belmont County, on May 21, 1893 a son of John and Mary McLaughlin Burkhart. Mr. Burkhart was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, Rose Hughes Burkhart; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Miller, Quaker City; Mrs. Margaret Nau, Caldwell; three sons, Herman J. of Malaga, Charles H. of Columbus; Frederick L. of Cleveland; 25 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a brother Nick of Zanesville; two sisters, Mrs. George Gallagher of Temperanceville; Miss Catherine Burkhart of Wheeling. The remains were brought to Campbell Funeral Home on North Chestnut Street where the Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at 8 o?clock. A High Mass of Requiem was held at 10 o?clock Wednesday morning from St. Mary?s Church in Temperanceville, with the Rev. Father Donald Schwedeman in charge. Interment was made in St. Mary?s Cemetery.
