Charles P. Riesbeck, 73, of 115 South Street, St. Clairsville, chairman of the board of Riesbeck Food Markets, Inc., died November 29, at Wheeling Continuous Care Center.Born July 8, 1910 in Zanesville, the son of Clement and Margaret Schumacher Riesbeck, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, a member of the Commodore Jack Perry Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Bellaire; a member of Our Lady of Peace Council, Knights of Columbus, St. Clairsville; the St. Clairsville Rotary Club and the Martins Ferry Elks.A former director of Ohio Retail Food Dealers Association, he had also served as a director of the Citizens National Bank, St. Clairsville.Preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Riesbeck and two children, James Michael and Judith Eileen Riesbeck, he is survived by his wife, Beatrice Kline Riesbeck; two sons, Charles P. Riesbeck, Jr. of Hamden, CN., and John Riesbeck of Bridgeville, PA; one brother, Paul Riesbeck of St. Clairsville, two sisters, Marguerite Pocsik of Martins Ferry and Mary Theurich of Barnesville, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.Mr. Riesbeck was former resident of Woodsfield and a graduate of Woodsfield High School.Friends were received at the Beck Funeral Chapel, St. Clairsville. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, Friday.Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund.
