- BIOGRAPHY: Dukart, John and Jean
John is the son of Jacob and Katherine Dukart and Jean is the daughter of Maurice and Gertrude Gervais of Estevan.
We were married in Estevan November 27, 1945 and lived on a farm them miles northeast of Estevan.
John has been active on the Estevan Rural School Board and is also on the Estevan Comprehensive School Board. He is also a member of the Estevan Knights of Columbus. Jean is with the Estevan St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary.
We have five boys and two girls.
Dennis was born in September 1946. He lives in Regina and has his own barbershop called "Canadiana Men's Hairstyles" on Twelfth Avenue in Regina.
David was born in March 1948. In 1972 he married Joanne Highfield of Estevan. David has worked with Schindel and Bazin oil company for the last twelve years. They have two children, Jodie born in March 1974 starts school this fall. Jamie was born in December 1976. David and Joanne live in Estevan at 802 George Street.
Darwin was born in August 1950. He works for the Saskatchewan Power and lives in Estevan. He worked at the Souris Valley Mine, driving a truck.
Brenda was born in September 1951. In September 1974, she married James Durr, the son of Stanley and Georgina Durr of Bromhead. They have two children, Melissa born in March 1976 and Bradley born in September 1978. They live in Estevan at 1225 First Street. James is in partnership with his brother-in-law, Dale Graefer, doing construction work.
Brian was born in July 1954. In 1974 he married Marie Joseph, the daughter of Bryan and Nola Joseph of Estevan at 1909 Dyer Road. They have two sons, Cory born in February 1975 starts kindergarten in September. Robbie was born in April 1979. Brian and Marie live on the farm. Brian works for his father-in-law at Bryan's Bit Service and welding.
Rodney was born in 1959. He works for Schindel and Bazin oil company and lives at home.
Rhonda, our youngest, was born in June 1965 and goes to school. She graduated from Junior High this spring and is going to the Comprehensive school this fall.
We have around seventy- five head of Purebred Hereford cattle. Rodney and Rhonda are in 4-H. This is Rodney's last year. He has been in it for eleven years. All the other children have been in 4-H. This is our twenty-sixth year and we enjoy every minute of it. We hope to be in it for another couple of years.
We still live on the farm, four miles north and six miles east of Estevan.
