Mr. Meuchel was born Oct. 11, 1918, at New Salem, to Frank and Suzanna (Staudinger) Meuchel. He was raised and educated in the Judson area. He married Mary Boehm Oct. 19, 1943, at New Salem. They farmed in the Flasher area until 1945, when they moved to Mandan. He worked for the Mandan Water Department for 33 years, before retiring in 1981. Mary died March 4, 1986. He was a member of Mandan Golden Age Services. He is survived by six sons and five daughters-in-law, David and Betty, Pat and Darlene, Ken and Brenda, all of Mandan, John and Rosemary, Watford City, Bernie and Barb, Rapid City, S.D., and Alfonce Jr., Chehalis, Wash.; four daughter and two sons-in-law, Kathy and Kenneth Schaff, Mary Lou and Bob Feist, and Charlene Meuchel Schaaf, all of Mandan, and Julie Ann Meuchel, Bismarck; one brother, Anton, Judson; four sisters, Mrs. Joe (Katie) Mosbruck-er. Portland, Ore., Mrs. Mike (Rose) Schaefer, Mandan, Mrs. Suzanna Olheiser, New Salem, and Mrs. Matt (Clara) Olheiser, Helena, Mont.; and 26 grandchildren.
