Bio: Richard James Bailey of Tenino, 77, went peacefully to be with our Lord July 27, 2019. He was born in Sidney, Mont., and spent his school years in Miles City, Mont.Dick married the love of his life in 1962, in Billings, Mont. He started raising his family in Billings and relocated to Kent, Wash., in 1975. Dick purchased Verde Park and Villa Grove IGA grocery stores in 1979, and relocated to Rochester, Wash, and he retired in 2007.He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Bailey; stepfather, Edwin Bailey; father, Jess Benningfield; and sisters, Betty Bonagofski, Bonnie Bailey and Darlene Nielson.Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, LaVonne; his three children; Robin Goodwin (Douglas), Price Bailey (Melodee) and Bryan Bailey (Tammy); nine grandchildren, Candace Sallee (Brian), Travis Brotherson (Kambra), Eli Goodwin, Alyssa Goodwin, Seth Goodwin, Ashton Bailey, Slade Bailey, Conner Bailey and Jordan Bailey; two great-granddaughters, Riley and Blakely; and one sister, Essie Petty.He lost an eight year long, hard fought battle with Aplastic Anemia. Dick was a favorite at Vista Oncology and Capital Medical Center, where he received amazing care. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.A private graveside service was held Aug. 1, 2019, at Grandmound Cemetery. Please join us for a memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at St. Peter?s Catholic Church, 149 Keithahn St. S, Tenino, WA 98589.Obituary published in The Chronicle in Lewis County, WA on August 5, 2019.
