Shortly after Deloris and Robert were born, Deloris was given to James
Curtis Steitler and Estelle Caston Steitler. **Madden and James
Curtis Steitler were siblings**
Catherine, Pat, and Robert Louis were sent to a children's home because
Madden had Tuberculosis. Madden and Pete Costello divorced. Pete
remarried Ally Deaver of Little Rock, Arkansas. The attorney that
orchestrated the removal of the children immediately adopted Robert Louis
and renamed him Robert Benjamin Hegler. Robert's birthday has since been
modified to July 6, 1917. We believe this was the date of his adoption.
The Hegler's are from Topeka, KS.
Daniel Steitler, the grandfather of the children, and father of Madden and
James Curtis Steitler, found Catherine and Pat in the children's home. He
removed them and sent them to live with his wife, their grandmother, Nora
Alexander aka Hannah Nora Alexander in Kansas City, Mo.
Peter Costello and Mary Jane McDonald are the parents of Joseph Peter
Costello. Texarkana, AR.
