Lll WILLIAM WANAMAKER WEISBROD AGE: 89 JERSEY CITY William Wanamaker Weisbrod of Montville and Jersey City, NJ, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Veterans' Memorial Home at Menlo Park at the age of 89. Mr Weisbrod was born on February 19, 1921 to Elizabeth Ruddle Weisbrod and Henry John Weisbrod of Jersey City. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Jersey City, in 1939. He was an accomplished fencer and president of Lincoln High School Fencing Team. After graduation he enlisted in the army and served his country honorably as pri vate first class of the 82 gun battalion during WWII. His military career took him throughout Europe and North Africa. Upon his re turn to the US he worked briefly in banking in New York City, and at Western Electric, before establishing his own auto body business in Rutherford, NJ. B & C Auto Service became a well known and thriving business which continues to operate successfully today. "Bill": was an ardent pigeon fancier and served as president of the Ideal Racing Pigeon Club in Jersey City for many years. He raised, bred and raced pigeons his entire life. He was also a talented wood worker who built beautiful grandfather clocks. These clocks were a labor of love, and as such, never sold, but given as gifts to valued people in his life whom he loved, from family to friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 31 years, Connie Parks Weisbrod. Surviving are his twin brother, Frederick Ruddle Weisbrod of Westchester, PA; his daughter, Wendy Weisbrod Mulholland and her partner Michael Seher of Aberdeen, NJ; his son, William Henry Weisbrod, and his wife Alice of Montville, NJ. He was a proud grandfather of Steven Mulholland, Kerri Mulholland Miano, Dr. Allison Weisbrod, Lauren Weisbrod, and great grandfather of Kyle and Dylan Mulholland and Kassie,. Kaylen and Mason Miano. As per Bills wishes he was privately cremated. A memorial gathering in his memory will be held on Tuesday April 20, 2010 from 4-8pm at the Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ.
