Predeceased by his brothers, Edward & James Wegman. Survived by his son, Robert John Wegman; brother, Donald (Georgie) Wegman; sisters, Dolores Kessler & Carol Wegman; sisters-in-law, Estelle Wegman & Jane Wegman; numerous nieces & nephews. Robert was a former member of the Rochester Police Department and the former owner of Rochester Marine Company. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly hunting & fishing. Robert?s funeral service will be celebrated 10am on Friday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. Interment at the convenience of the family. Robert was an avid scuba diver and helped start the Rochester Police Department's Scuba Team. He enjoyed boating and even built his own wooden boat. Robert was very handy. He built a camp in the southern tier in the town of Campbell. These traits are what led him to own and operate the boating store, Rochester Marine. At Christmas time, Robert enjoyed hosting parties at his house and usually hosted parties at his camp for Thanksgiving. Family and friends would best describe Robert as someone who was very generous and always supported his family and welcomed all of his nieces and nephews. He had a big heart and helped anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
