On Feb. 3, 1968, she married Jerry Wiechman at St. Gertrude Church in Raleigh.Ilene was socially outgoing, organized in all of her activities, dedicated to her community and most of all, her family. Her organizational skills were evident in her being the head cook at the Flasher Public School for 16 years and as president of the American Legion Auxiliary for 20 years, where she proudly displayed her patriotism. She could be called upon on the spur of the moment to cook a meal or bake dozens of cookies for the linemen during the power outage in the spring of 2010. Her homemade buns were a family favorite and she enjoyed baking them with her grandchildren. She had an incredible memory for family history, in many cases she was known as the walking history book. She had a great penmanship and would handwrite everything for the family history book resulting in 600 pages. Her faith was important to her, being able to attend when possible and giving her time teaching religion classes. Her enjoyment of old-time music was highlighted by listening to the polka hour as a regular event, often dancing with her grandchildren and teaching them to polka. The love of her children and grandchildren was always lovingly displayed. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Tina (Chad) Pletan, Mandan, Renee Wiechman (fiance, Timothy Prince Jr.), Darien, Ill., and Mandi (Dylan) Fuchs, Carson; grandchildren, Carlee, Angus and Colter Fuchs; sisters, Irene (Bob) Storick, Arizona City, Ariz., and Adele (Dave) Ell, Bismarck; brother, Randy Riehl (fiancee, Linda), Bismarck; sisters-in-law, Mary Weekes, Flasher, and JoAnn Riehl, Mandan; uncle, Marc Schneider, Fargo; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, who passed in 2002; her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, August and Erna Wiechman; grandparents; brother, Robert Riehl; and brother-in-law, Donald Weekes.
