Eileen Guthmiller, 79, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at SCCI Hospital, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her daughters.
Eileen Jeanette Hogue was born January 14, 1926 in Butte, MT, the daughter of George and Ruby (Lindquist) Hogue. She moved to St. Paul, MN where she attended a Catholic Elementary School for grades K-8 and St. Joseph?s Academy for grades 9-12. After graduating from St. Joseph?s Academy in 1944, she moved to Jamestown, ND, where she attended Trinity Hospital School of Nursing from 1944 to 1947. She began her nursing career in 1947 at Trinity Hospital. On July 25, 1948, she married Bill Guthmiller at Jamestown, ND where they made their home. Eileen spent several years as Pediatric Head Nurse and then as hospital supervisor at Jamestown Hospital. She finished her nursing career at the North Dakota State Hospital. After retiring, she served as a volunteer at The Basilica Of St. James for 20 years. She was coordinator of liturgical ministries, assistant secretary to the pastor and staff and was also membership coordinator.
Eileen was an active member of The Basilica Of St. James serving as a Proclaimer and Eucharistic Minister both at the church and to the sick and also served on numerous committees. She was a member and past president of St. James Tabernacle Society, Our Lady of Lourdes Circle, the Retired Nurses Association, the American Legion Auxiliary and the National Guard Auxiliary. She was very involved, along with her husband, Bill, helping with Knights of Columbus activities. Eileen loved sewing and golf and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: 3 daughters: Connie (Bruce) Sheetz, Bradenton, FL; Rie (DuWayne) Schibilla, Minnetonka Beach, MN and Parrish, FL; Julie (Louis) Bergman, Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren: Todd (Mary) Sheetz, Waukesha, WI; Sara Sheetz, Sarasota, FL; Michael Beinert II, John Beinert, Kathryn Beinert, all of Minneapolis, MN; Adam (Petra) Bergman, Zachary Bergman, Luke Bergman, all of Seattle, WA; 2 great-grandchildren: Grace and Abigail Sheetz; and Laura Kraft, Jamestown, ND, who also called her Grandma; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers: Robert and Eugene Hogue.

Prayer Service ? 7:00 p.m. Rosary, 7:15 p.m. prayer services, Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at The Basilica Of St James, Jamestown, ND
Visitation ? 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday
Interment ? Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
Memorials ? In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the purchase of a medical defibrillator for the Basilica Of St James.
