Bio: Mirrel Samuel Oliver was born on March 10, 1899 in Stanleyville, Washington County, Ohio and was the son of Charles Centennial and Rosanna Rohrer Oliver. He was an only child and raised on a farm.WWI Draft Card of September 12, 1918 revealed Mirrel Samuel Oliver was born on March 10, 1899, resided in Stanleyville and was nineteen. He was a farmer and his employer was his father, C. C. Oliver in Washington County, Ohio. Mirrel was short, slender, had black eyes and black hair.Marriage Record revealed Mirrel S. Oliver was twenty-three and Dorothy V. Kidd was seventeen when they married on Christmas Day in 1922 by a First Methodist Church pastor in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Mirrel was born in Stanleyville, Ohio, was a Steel Mill worker and his parents were Charles C. Oliver and Anna Rohrer. Dorothy was born in Stanleyville, Ohio and her parents were Edwin C. Kidd and Ica Elder. Dorothy took her baby sister, Marjorie, the eleventh child, home with her for several months so her mother could recuperate. She returned Marjorie just prior to having her first child. They lived in Zanesville in Muskuigum County, Ohio when their first daughter was born in September 1923. They moved to Marietta in Washington County, Ohio where their next two daughters were born. The 1930 census revealed Mirrel7682 was an opener at the steel sheet mill and they owned a radio. They rented their home for $15 per month at Gertrude Place in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. They and their parents were all born in Ohio. Mirrel was twenty-three and Dorothy was seventeen when they married. Household members: Mirael S. Oliver (31), Dorothy V. (24), Myrtle I. (6), Dorothy M. (5) and Bernadine M. (2). The next year he built a cabin on the Sandyville River close to East Sparta, Ohio. The three girls slept in the loft that had a door to let in fresh air. Mirrel enjoyed gardening. He loved hunting and fishing and even took his daughters with him sometimes. He hunted muskrats for the fur, squirrels for their tails and grew the medicinal herb ginseng. The 1940 census revealed Mirrel was a Crain helper in a steel mill and earned $876 in 1939. They lived in Canton, Stark County, Ohio in 1935. Their daughter, Myrtle Oberlin and husband were living with them on Sherman Church Road in Bethleham, Stark County, Ohio and their real estate value was $1000. Mirrel had an eighth grade education and Dorothy had a ninth grade education. Household members: Mirrel S. Oliver (41), Dorothy V. (34), Dorothy A. (15), Bernadine M. (12), Donna J. (2), Donald L. Oberlin (20) and Myrtle I. They were divorced in 1945. He was about forty-five and Mildred Helen Smith Fenstemaker was about twenty-three when they married in 1945. Mildred had two children from her first marriage:Carol Ann Fenstemaker (b.1939 d.1953) DY Gary Robert Fenstemaker (b.1941)Mirrel was a steel mill worker and worked at Republic Steel in Canton, Ohio for many years.Their children: Sandra Kay Oliver (b.1945) Melvin Dale Oliver (b.1947 d.2006) Charles Franklin Oliver (b.1948 d.2005) Timothy Lee Oliver (b.1950) Mirrel Samuel Oliver (b.1952 d.2000) They had been married twenty years and their youngest child was fourteen when Mirrel died in 1966. Death Certificate revealed Mirrel S. Oliver was born on October 3, 1899 in Marietta, Ohio, his residence was 3202 Sherr Avenue S.E. in Stark County, Ohio and he was a loader in steel conditioning at Republic Steel. Mirrel was in the Molly Stark Hospital for two hundred and six days and died at age sixty-seven at 12 p.m. of Coronary insufficiency due to ASHW, due to Cerebral Thrumbosis and Congestive Pericarditis on August 1, 1966 in Stark County, Ohio. His parents were Charles C. Oliver and Rose Anna Rohrer. He was buried at Warstler Cemetery on August 4, 1966 in Stark County, Ohio. Mirrel lived to age 67.
