Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation at Straub's Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Alma; three sons, Leland (Phyllis) Keszler of Mobridge, Jerry (Marlene) Keszler of Grass Lake, Mich., Richard Keszler of Fargo, N.D.; one daughter, Bernice Goehring, Rapid City; two stepsons, Rodney (Janice) Thurn, Aberdeen, S.D., John Thurn, Bowdle; sister Rosina Lindemann, Eureka, nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Emma, one son in infancy and one brother. Lorenz was born to John Keszler and Rosina Schanzenbach on May 9, 1916 in Campbell County, S.D. He married Emma Fischer on Dec. 26, 1935. She died on Feb. 18, 1970. He married Alma Thurn on Sept. 15, 1970. Lorenz and Emma made their home on a farm 16 miles southwest of Eureka until 1951 at which time they moved to Eureka. He enjoyed fishing and being an all-around handyman. He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church; a past member of the church board, city council, and Sheriff's Association. He was an employee of the City of Eureka, Eureka Equity Exchange and Straub's Funeral Home. He operated Nu-Way Cleaners. He was the Sheriff of McPherson County for 14 years, retiring in 1978. Casketbearers will be Glenn Goehring, Jonathon Goehring, Todd Keszler, Steve Keszler, Scott Keszler, Mark Chaney, Kevin Keszler, Keith Kunz, and Walter Lindemann. Rev. Dean Nelson will officiate and Selma Lapp will be the organist. Music by trio "From The Heart."
