Matz, 38, of 1126 Columbus Circle died unexpectedly early Sunday morning in Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 13, 1960, in Ashland, Ohio, and was the son of Walter S. and Mary L. Jacobs Matz. He had been a resident of Ashland his entire life. He was a graduate of Ashland High School class of 1978. He was employed by the ARKO Corp. as a shipping supervisor.On July 1, 1988, he was married to Kathy S. Legg, who survives him. He is also survived by two daughters and one son, Courtney of Galion, Ohio, and Natasha and Shane, living at home. He is also survived by two grandchildren; his parents, Walter and Mary L.Matz of Hopewell, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and William Briggs of Ashland and Sue and Dan Jones of Hayesville, Ohio; two brothers, Robert and Richard, both of Hopewell, Ohio; his mother and father-in-law, Edward and Shirley Legg , both of Shelby, Ohio.Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Tackett and the Reverend Ed Legg officiating.Burial will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park.Friends may call today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
