Bio: Obituary Bismarck Tribune (Feb 18, 2010)Mark Bauer, 58, Bismarck, passed away Feb. 16, 2010, near Garrison. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Allen Wagner officiating.Family will be greeting guests from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place.Mark was born Feb. 5, 1952, to Ted and Norma (Lasher) Bauer in Minot. He attended schools in Mott and New Leipzig and graduated with a degree in drafting from NDSCS in Wahpeton. He married Roxanne Hodell in 1973 and worked in Miles City and Sidney, Mont., until he began a long career in the oil industry. Mark knew all aspects of drilling for oil since he began as a roughneck and ended his career as a drilling engineer in charge of logistics for Royal Dutch Shell in Cameroon, West Africa.Mark and Roxanne were blessed with three children, Patrick, Atlanta, Christopher (Jody), Bismarck, and Kimberly, Bismarck. Papa Mark was also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Lucas and Claire Bauer.Mark passed away while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, darkhouse spearing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling with his grandkids and was an avid reader.Mark is survived by his wife, Roxanne; three children, Patrick, Christopher (Jody), and Kimberly; two grandchildren, Lucas and Claire Bauer; two brothers, Blair (Jan) Bauer, Dickinson, and Lane (Julie) Bauer, Las Cruces, N.M.; his stepfather, Ernest Mueller, New Leipzig; two brothers-in-law, Clark (Colleen) Hodell, New Leipzig, and Kim (Beckie) Hodell, Scranton; one sister-in-law, Pam Martinson, Phoenix; and 11 nieces and nephews.
