Burial will be at the Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 from 3:00-9:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, and will continue 8:30 -10:30 am Saturday at the funeral home. There will be a Parish Rosary/Vigil at 7:00 pm Friday at Weigel Funeral Home. John was born on March 24, 1931 to Louie and Elizabeth (Thomas) Landeis in Mandan, ND. He was raised and educated in Center, ND. He married Lorraine Geiger on July 13, 1954 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Mandan. John's career as a truck driver began with Belohlavek Trucking, then with Houck Transport and then became self employed as Landeis Livestock Hauling. John also enjoyed being a school bus driver for many years. He enjoyed attending his grandsons' basketball games, watching rodeo on TV and tending to his cattle. Spending time with his family on holidays and birthdays was very important to him. John will be remembered as an honest and hardworking man. John will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Lorraine. They shared 57 wonderful years together. He is also survived by his children Darryl (Vi) Landeis, Renee (Gary) Schaff, Dale (Kelly) Landeis, Vickie (Mick) Tischmak and Michelle (Greg) Roller all of Mandan; his grandchildren, Jake (Kylie) Landeis, and Emmylou Landeis, Jaimee Schaff and Corey Schaff, Kayln Landeis, Devin Rogers and Westin Tischmak, Jaden Roller and Alyssa Roller; his brother, Tom (Loretta) Landeis; his sister-in-law, Regina Landeis, and his brother-in-law Ralph Hatzenbihler, all of Mandan. John was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Margaret Hatzenbihler, and Agnes Landeis and a brother, Jack Landeis.
