A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the VFW Post 8955 as well as a member of the Westerly Police Reserve and the Westerly Ambulance Corps where he was past President. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Robert C. Schilke, Jr. (Sandra) and Leah Schilke Holloway (Tracy), all of Westerly and Kimberly Schilke Banner of Bridgeport, CT; three siblings, Edward (Nancy) Schilke, Sandra Chiaradio Christina and Linda Bruno, all of Westerly; four grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan and Ryan Holloway and Hayden Banner; and many nieces and nephews.
