Birth: Jan. 25, 1866 Death: Dec. 20, 1946 Mrs. Melissa Scherer, age 89, the widow of Fred Scherer, died Friday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Orvin Decker, of Claremont. Mrs. Scherer, who resided in German township her entire life, is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Decker of Claremont and Mrs. Erma Beck of Olney, one son, Oren Scherer of Olney and one grandson, Daniel Beck of Olney. Funeral services were held at the St. James Lutheran church Monday afternoon under the direction of the Olney Funeral Home, and burial was in the nearby cemetery. Published in the Olney Advocate, Thursday, December 26, 1946.
