Proposed Change: Louis Anton Seibert (I38525) Tree: Südpfalz / Southern Palatinate Link: http://birkenhoerdt.net/getperson.php?personID=I38525&tree=Suedpfalz Description: My great "helper", Teri Bromley, forwarded this copy of a newspaper obit for Louis Anton Seibert today: MASCOUTAH HERALD, Weds., Feb. 7, 1917, pg 5 col 2 Death of Mr. Louis Seibert Mr. Louis Seibert, a well-known farmer residing about two miles east of New Baden, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday morning, January 30, 1917, at the age of 63 years. Deceased had been ailing for several years, but he was always able to be up and about. On the day of his death, he was walking about his home when he was suddenly stricken with apoplexy and he died a short time later. Surviving him is his widow, three daughters and three sons. The funeral took place last Thursday morning, from the family home to the Catholic church in New Baden, where services were conducted at 8:30 o'clock by Rev. Fathers G. Toennies. Interment was made in the Mascoutah Catholic Cemetery. The age at time of death listed for him must be incorrect: Our records show his d.o.b. as 22 Feb 1861, confirmed roughly by later census records. His true age at death should have been 55 years (he would have turned 56 in 3 weeks time). Perhaps the only new info here is the cause of death. Wanted to make sure your records are complete. Ciao.
