Mr. Gardner, who was 76, was born in Okalona, MS and had lived in Memphis since he was a small boy. He was a Mason and a member of Temple Israel congregation. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sara Greener; a daughter, Mrs. O.L. Huffman of 9324 North Belvedere; a son, Air Force major William I. Greener Jr. of the Pentagon in Washington D.C.; a brother, Irving Greener of 924 Stonewall; a sister, Mrs. Effie Hiller of the Stonewall address; and six grandchildren.
