Birth: Nov. 1, 1880 Death: Sep. 7, 1943 Philip Hopfauf was born in 1880 in Karlsruhe, Russia, the son of Sebastian and Magdalena (Pfaff) Hopfauf, and came to the United States with his parents in 1903. In 1906 he married Barbara Winchell at Judson, who came to this country in 1900. She was born in 1885 in Speier, Russia, the daughter of John & Frances (Hoerner) Winchell. They lived on a farm NE of Flasher until Mr. Hopfauf's death in 1943. Mrs. Hopfauf then made her home in Bismarck until her death in 1973. There nine children are: Stanley, Eva, John, Frank, Emily, Sebastian, Lillian, Christ, Frances.
