Birth: Jun. 12, 1922 Death: Aug. 19, 2009 Bismarck Tribune Aug 22, 2009 WISHEK - Ruth Meidinger, 87, Wishek, died Aug. 19, 2009, at Wishek Home for the Aged. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Burial will be in St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Ruth Meidinger, daughter of Ferdinand and Dorothea (Rudolf) Meidinger, was born June 12, 1922, the seventh of 15 children at rural Wishek. She was raised on a farm eight miles southwest of Wishek. Ruth received her elementary education in rural Salem School District No. 2 and went on to attend Wishek High School. After graduation, she spent three years teaching in rural schools. Ruth married Alvin Meidinger on Nov. 21, 1943, at St. James Lutheran church near Wishek. For 35 years, Alvin and Ruth farmed four miles southwest of Wishek. In 1983, they moved into Wishek. Alvin passed away July 24, 1993. In November 2001, Ruth moved into the Wishek Home Apartments and in June 2008, she entered the Wishek Home for the Aged. Ruth was a charter member of the Wishek Eagles Club, as well as a charter member of the Wishek Diamond Square Dance Club. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Wishek. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Ruby Altringer, Bismarck; two grandsons, Bryan (Fran) Altringer, North Augusta, S.C., and Scott (Camille) Altringer, Meridian, Idaho; six great-grandchildren, Danielle, Karis, Aaron and Andrew, North Augusta, and Jordan and Marshall, Meridian, Idaho; six brothers, Roy (Luella) Meidinger, Wishek, Tom (Millie) Meidinger, Fargo, Bill (Leona) Meidinger, Ashley, Art Meidinger, Plazerville, Calif., Joe (Melvina) Meidinger, Wishek, and Walter (Marvalene) Meidinger, Wishek; three sisters, Clara Miller, Wishek, Rose Heyne, Wishek, and Wilma Speidel, Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents; and five brothers, Richard, Hugo, Samuel, Oscar and Robert.
