Birth: Jun. 16, 1911 Death: Nov. 24, 1999 OBITUARY- ROSE CREEK -- The funeral for Peter Schmit will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rose Creek, with the Rev. Ruben Spinler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Schmit, 88, of Rose Haven Apartments, Rose Creek, died Wednesday night (Nov. 24, 1999) at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born June 16, 1911, in Rose Creek. Mr. Schmit served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was a resident of Rose Creek all his life and was in the gravel trucking business. He was a member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion. Survivors include one son, Paul Price of Austin; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John and Louie, both of Rose Creek. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. There will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Monday.
