ENGEL, Ann (Nancy) Age 76 of Centerville passed away Friday March 3, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton of a sudden and brief illness. Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She graduated from the University of Dayton in 1978. She was a CPA and worked for the IRS and the Air Force. After retiring from WPAFB, she enjoyed world travel and was working on her sixth continent. She was also a watercolor artist who treasured en plein air painting with her friends in The Traveling Brushes. She was born November 15, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by Herman, her devoted husband of 56 years, daughters Barbara Engel of Columbus, OH and Kathy Shumaker of Evergreen, CO, son Bill and daughter- in-law Lisa Engel of Dayton, sons Chris Engel and Jim Engel of Dayton; sister Jane Koch; grandchildren Jason, Siobhan, Dylan, and Caitlin; great-grandchildren Aidan and Mackenzie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Scott. Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Wednesday March 8, 2006 at the Church of the Incarnation 7415 Far Hills Ave in Centerville. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Tuesday at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Ann's memory.
