Jacob Sukut, age 85, Wishek, N.D., died Friday, May 10, 2002, at the Wishek Nursing Home, Wishek. 
 
Mr. Sukut was born Feb. 25, 1917, near Fredonia, N.D., the son of Edward Sr. and Emma (Bender) Sukut. He grew up and received his education in the Fredonia area. In 1936 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked in Utah, Wyoming and later at Minneapolis, Minn., for the "Extra Gang" on the railroad. On Oct. 26, 1941, he married Anna Krueger at Fredonia. The couple then lived with his parents on their farm near Fredonia. In 1943 they moved to a farm three and a half miles west of Fredonia. In 1954 they moved into Fredonia where he operated a Dray Line during the winter months. He purchased Sukut's Bar in 1955. In 1959 they moved to Minneapolis, where he worked for Hitchock Industries in the sand foundry as a smelter, pourer and inspector until he retired in 1982 and the couple moved to Wishek. She died in 1984. 
 
He married Pauline Oberlander in 1987. He married Leona Fiechtner in 1993. 
 
He was a member of Grace Luther Church, Lehr, N.D., and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed and took great pride in his gardens and lawn. 
 
He is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Entzi, Jamestown; a son, Stanley (Linda), Ramsey, Minn.; four sisters, Martha Lautt and Anna Miller, both Wishek, Leontina Krueger, Rosemount, Minn., and Viola Moury, Monroe, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Santha Sukut; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Marvin, five brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Elroy Entzi. 
 
Services: 10:30 a.m. today, Grace Lutheran Church, Lehr, with the Rev. Lyle Klemz officiating. 
Visitation: one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. 
Burial: Martin Luther Lutheran Cemetery, Fredonia.
