Pearl D. Donatsch, 90, of Luther Manor Care Center, formerly of 17640 Middle Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at the care center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1916, in Dubuque, daughter of George and Esther (Oertel) Gottschalk. She married Elmer Donatsch in November of 1941 and the two farmed in the Center Township area all their lives; he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1986.
Pearl loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and canning for her family. Gardening and playing cards with friends were Pearl's favorite pasttimes.
Surviving are her children, Judy (Don) Schuster and James Donatsch, both of Dubuque, and Jean (John) Sutherland, of Cottonwood, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Douglas (Marie) Schuster and their children, Lillian and Grace Ries, and Dawn (Steve) Potts and their children, Nicole and Tyler; her brother, Harold (Gloria) Gottschalk, of Dubuque; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Donatsch.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Gottschalk; and her sister, Gladys Ackmann.
