She was raised in Center, North Dakota and graduated from Mandan High School in Mandan, ND. She married Matthew Hatzenbihler on October 3, 1939 in Center, ND. They farmed until 1947 when the family moved to Yakima. She worked for Libby's Cannery for a number of years and volunteered for the Red Cross. Adeline and Matt traveled full time in their motor home for ten years and wintered in Yuma, AZ. Survivors include her children and their spouses: James G. and Dorothy K. Hatzenbihler of Garibaldi, OR and Sheila M. and Stephen P. Kohls of Yakima; six grandchildren, Bryan (Tatyana) Hatzenbihler, Richard (Susan) Kohls, Douglas (Ann) Kohls, Corinne (Craig) Miller, Mark (Jo) Tharp and Kim (Eric) Schmidt; also godchild Pat Todd and her daughter Lynn Todd; 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Bertha Stoerchli of Lacey, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Matt Hatzenbihler, a daughter, Kathleen Tharp, and brothers George Yantzer, Leo Yantzer and Johnny Yantzer and a sister, Rose Denius.
