Birth: Jul. 27, 1912 Death: May 25, 1965 Oliver County 1885-1985; Page 818: Stephen was born in Oliver County on July 27, 1912, the son of Frank and Margaret (Schafer) Lipp. He was the fifth child in the family of 10. He had five brothers and four sisters. Steve was raised on the farm and attended rural school in the Center area. On September 21, 1933, he married Eva Mosbrucker, at Bismarck, North Dakota. Eva was born in Oliver County on August 21, 1914, the daughter of Philip and Rosa (Hatzenbihler) Mosbrucker. She was the oldest in the family of 13 children. She attended one of the rural areas schools. Steve and Eva farmed 5 miles Southwest of Center on what was called the Sample place for 10 years. It was there that four of the Lipp children were born, two daughters and two sons. Then in 1944 they moved a mile further south to the Homestead place where they farmed for 21 years. There were two more children born to the family, a son and a daughter. Besides being busy with farming and raising a family, they belonged to St. Martin's Catholic Church and Steve served on the Lewis School District Board. Steve died in May of 1965 at the age of 52. The farm was sold to the second of the sons, Thomas, who is presently living on the farm. Eva moved into Center and is at this writing living at East Side Manor.
