Hirsch, 80 November 20, 1934 - April 24, 2015 Funeral services for Melvin Hirsch were April 27 at the Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell. Burial was in Frieden’s Reformed Cemetery in Tripp. Melvin E. Hirsch was born Nov. 20, 1934, at Tripp, in Hutchinson County to Reinhold and Beatha (Herr) Hirsch. He was baptized Feb. 7, 1935, and was confirmed April 10, 1949, in the Tripp Reformed Church. He grew up in Hutchinson County and attended rural country school Pathfinder #76 through the eighth grade. He was a lifelong farmer and sold seed corn, helped various people with their farming as well as doing custom corn shelling. After a severe heart attack in Sept. 2008, he entered Firesteel Health Care in Feb. 2009. He had been on Hospice care five times prior to this one. He died Friday, April 24, at Firesteel Health Care Center under hospice. He is survived by brothers, Kenneth (Irene) Hirsch, Yankton, and Maynard Hirsch, Mitchell; sister, Betty Bender, Tripp; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Bender, and sister-in-law, Audrey Hirsch.
