Heine, 79, formerly of West Lafayette, died at 8:05 AM Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in his daughter's residence at Bakersfield, CA. He was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Logansport, and had resided most of his life in the West Lafayette area. He had resided in Bakersfield ten months. He was a graduate of West Lafayette High School, and Purdue University. He married Clara M. Becker on April 1, 1943, at St. Louis, MO; she died Aug. 25, 1998. In 1997, Mr. Heine retired as parts and service manager from Bob Rohrman Automotive Group after 25 years. Previously, he had been a mechanic, parts manager and sales manager, working in the automotive field for 50 years. He was a Navy veteran, serving as a machinist's mate during World War II. He enjoyed auto racing, bowling, fishing, dancing, dogs, and had owned and raced stock cars. Surviving are a daughter, Connie L. (Mrs. Charlie) Myers of Bakersfield; and a sister, Patty Collins of Olympia, WA; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy J. Morgan on Sept. 17, 1980; and a brother, Robert Heine. Service Aug. 19, Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Dr. R.
