Barbara L. Kochert
LANESVILLE, INDIANA
BARBARA L. (CARROLL) KOCHERT, passed away Friday October 17, 2014 at the Villages of Historic Silvercrest. She was born on November 6, 1939 in New Albany, IN., the daughter of the late Hollis C. Jr. and Martha(Duffy) Carroll. Barbara married her husband, Ronald M. Kochert on June 21, 1958 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Albany. They met in the halls of Providence High School; a perfect combination of German stability and Irish spirit. Barbara was a member of St. Mary’s Lanesville Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Anne’s Society. In the 60’s she served as chairman of the Harrison County Mental Health Association. She was an original member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1808 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Old Capitol Golf Club, and past president of the Ladies Golf Association. Barbara enjoyed life to the fullest with love, laughter, and time spent with family and friends. She will be missed by many who loved her. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Sprigler.

and 4 Grandchildren: Maggie Marshall(Justin), Kattie Kochert, Alex and Nicholas Wolfe.
A funeral mass celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at 10 AM Wednesday October 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s Lanesville Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 8 PM Tuesday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes(1119 E. Market St.). Memorial Contributions: Providence High School or Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
