Miesel, 64, passed away August 30, 2006. He was born November 26, 1941 to the late Peter and Marie (Heck) Miesel in Erie, PA. He was a graduate from Cathedral Prep School for Boys in Erie. Dr. Miesel received his Bachelor's of Science Cum Laude from Notre Dame in 1962 and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Campus. Dr. Miesel worked as a research chemist for Eli Lilly, Elanco, and Dow Agro Sciences of Indianapolis since 1966. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, The American Chemical Society, Nora Community Council, and volunteered at St. Augustine's Home for the Aged. Dr. Miesel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra (Schwartz) Miesel; daughters, Marie-Louise Miesel and Anne-Louise Miesel; son, Peter Louis Miesel; sisters, Doris Rundquist and Janet Bednaro; brother, William Miesel.
