Duaine N. Gustin died June 26, 2004. He was born in Flasher, N. Dakota, January 19, 1934. His parents Nicholas and Emelia moved to Tacoma when Duaine was 11 years old. He has lived the remainder of his life in the Tacoma/Gig Harbor area. Duaine graduated from Bellarmine in 1952. Duaine loved life and he loved to learn. He would often say, "I am attending the University of Life." He always excelled in whatever hobby, task or interest he pursued. After a long and successful career with IBM, he retired in 1992. He continued "loving" computer work after re-tirement and generously donated his time and skills to others. Duaine is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Gustin, Gig Har- bor, WA; 4 children, Mike Gustin, Tacoma, WA; Dave Gustin, Taco- ma, WA; Sue (Dave) Lykins, Lake Stevens, WA; and Kristin (Louis) Guizetti, Rainier WA; 2 brothers, Arnie (Caylene) Gustin, LaCrescenta, CA; and Norman (Glenice) Gustin, Fircrest, WA; 3 sisters, Donna (Rick) Bader, Edmonds, WA; Dorothy (Ed) Harris, Tacoma, WA; and JoAnne (Wayne) Stoltz, Tacoma, WA; 4 granddaughters, Maggie Lykins, Sophie, Nina and Mia Guizetti; and a large extended family and many friends who will all miss him greatly. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. July 2, 2004 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 3510 Rosedale St. in Gig Harbor, followed by a graveside service at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Donations in Duaine's name may be made to L'Arche Tahoma Hope, 12303 - 36th Ave. East, Tacoma, WA 98446; or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 3 Forest Street, New Canaan, CT 06840.
