Lawrence Glasser, 66, 623 S. 16th St., Bismarck, died Feb. 2, 1998, in a local hospital of heart disease. Services will be noon Thursday at Church of St. Mary, with the Revs. Charlie Heidt and Austin Vetter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil service will be said at 7:30 p.m. today.
Lawrence was born on April 14, 1931, in Bismarck, the son of Frank and Rose (Wetzstein) Glasser. He attended school in Solen. Lawrence was married to Irene Hatzenbuhler on Nov. 8, 1950.
He was employed by Meisner and Anderson Construction for nine years and St. Alexius Medical Center for 32 years, until his retirement in 1993.
He was a master craftsman in woodworking and there was no challenge too big or too small. He spent many hours in his garden and in his shop where many masterpieces were created and memories were made.
Lawrence made a tremendous investment into his wife, children and grandchildren. They were the love of his life. He made endless sacrifices to provide a quality life for them.
Those who were so privileged to have shared in his life are: his wife, Irene; two daughters and sons-in-love, Carol and Dan Landeis, Bismarck, and Karen and Bob Porsborg, Center; one son and daughter-in-love, Lawrence Jr. and Carmen Glasser, Bismarck; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Landeis and Her fiance, Jeremy Oakland, Joshua and Jonnica Landeis, Chad and Mari Jo Porsborg, Heather Porsborg and her fiance, Scott Bullinger, and David and Stephen Glasser. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Elaine Geiger, Mandan, Anton Glasser, Rose and Monica Stoller, all of San Mateo, Calif., John and Frank Glasser, both of Seattle, Wash., Maggie Froelich, Mandan, and Bertha Barth, Reno, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose Glasser; his father and mother-in-love, Nick and Hatzenbuhler; two brothers, Mike and Adam Glasser; and one sister, Elizabeth Stoltz.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.
