"Mikki"
Anna Maxine Kilzer Luck, "Mikki," passed away August 2, 2013. She was born June 21, 1924 in Ashland, Ohio to Anna and Jacob Kilzer. She graduated from Ashland High School in June 1942, six months after Pearl Harbor. It was wartime so she went to work as a secretary at the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. There she met S/Sgt. Preston C. Luck of Richmond, VA. They were married June, 21, 1945.
After the war, they moved to Charlottesville, VA where Sgt. Luck attended the University of Virginia. After he graduated, they moved to Radford, VA, to work with Hercules Powder Company. Hercules moved them to Maryland, Utah, Washington, New Jersey, South Carolina and back to Utah.
Four sons were born to Mikki and Preston: Stephen (Becky Coble), Bruce (Ramona Allen), Keith (Beth Gerall), and Jeffry (Kathleen). She leaves behind six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Preston, and Steve and her parents, brother Paul, and sister Ruth. She is survived by the rest of the family.
Mikki was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sandy, UT. She spent many hours as a volunteer in the church office. A memorial service will be there on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11:00 a.m. www.goffmortuary.com
