Birth: Apr. 21, 1893 Ashley McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Death: Feb. 9, 1978 Yakima Yakima County Washington, USA Northwest Blade, Eureka, SD, Mar 23, 1978 – YAKIMA – Funeral servies for former Euekan, John H. Lapp, 84, of Yakima, Wa. were held Monday, Feb. 13 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev Melvin F. Teske officiated. Mr. Lapp passed away Thursday, Feb. 9. He had enjoyed good health until Feb. 7 when he suffered a stroke and was in a coma until his death. He was born April 21, 1893 at Ashley, N. Dak. He received his education at Eureka, S. Dak. On Nov. 26, 1914 he was united in marriage to Emma Bender. A farmer for some years, they moved to Yakima, Wa. in 1937 where he was employed as a carpenter and home builder. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. His wife preceded him in death on May 6, 1977. Survivors include; one son, Milton Lapp, Yakima, Wa.; two daughters Mrs. Gerald (Lorentina) Bogert and Mrs. George (Esther) Kauzlarich, both of Seattle, Wa.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. John (Emelia) Opp; and one brother, Jacob Lapp, both of Eureka, S. Dak.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Casket bearers were David Seibel, Casper Vetter, Roy C. Peterson, Joe Dillinger, Emmanuel Lapp, and Donald D. Clark.
