Christian Frank was born on November 19, 1923 in Dickinson, ND, the son of Stephen and Clementina(Heidt) Frank. He grew up and received his education in Dickinson, ND. On June 22, 1944, Christian entered the U.S. Army, serving in the 49th Armored Infantry Division during WWII and in September, 1945 he was honorably discharged with injuries. On January 29, 1946, in Regent, ND he was united in marriage to Pauline Jahner. They lived and farmed near Dickinson until 1956 when they moved to Willmar, MN. Christian owned and operated the Little Miss Junior Furniture Store in Atwater, MN until 1961 when he established Frank’s Cleaning Service in Willmar. He retired in 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of Manannah Catholic Church and a past member of St. Patrick’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches. Christian was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post, American Legion Post, and the Disable American Veterans. He volunteered with God’s Hams from 1977 to 1978 and was a sponsor of local bowling and women’s softball leagues. Christian enjoyed woodworking, old time music, dancing, playing the banjo, harmonica and spoons. He also loved spending time with his family and friends and leading a prayerful life. Christian died on March 23, 2004 at his home in Willmar, MN following an extended illness. He attained the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 4 days. Burial is at the St. Mary's Cemetary in Willmar, MN.
