  [S927] Obituary. Eleanor Reas Posted: Friday, October 13, 2000 12:00 am Eleanor Frances Reas, age 93, of Ashland, passed away Monday, October 9, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center, Ashland. She was born September 22, 1907, in Butternut, the daughter of John and Mary (Bruch) Heyel. Eleanor was a graduate from Park Falls High School. On September 19, 1925, she married Lester Lee Reas in Park Pails. This union was blessed with two daughters and two sons. Lester preceded her in death on January 19, 1957. She was president of the Bay Tower Tenants Club and was a volunteer for RSVP for over 18 years. Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Ashland. Along with being a wonderful homemaker, Eleanor loved to be with her family. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. She knit many mittens that warmed the hands and hearts of all her family. She will be greatly missed by daughters, Betty and husband Gordon Shefchik; and Doris (Hicks) and husband William Bowron, both of Ashland; two sons, William and wife Ruth, Port Washington; and James and wife Mary Lou, Wisconsin Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are one brother, Arnold Heyel, Bisbee, Ariz.; three sisters, Regina Rehfeldt, Richfield; Dorothy and husband Weinberger, Medford; and Florence Hanns, Brown Deer; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Lauretta Ollerman; son-in-law, Earl Hicks; and daughter-in-law, Alice Reas. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland, with Fr. Vernon Olmer officiating. Burial will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery, Ashland.
