John Faszer
John Faszer, 77, 18644 N. Lower Sacramento Road, Woodbridge, died early Thursday morning in a local hospital following a short illness.
Born in Lehr, N.D., he was raised and educated there, and eventually farmed in the area. Faszer married Emma Aman Nov. 4, 1923, in Lehr and the couple lived there until 1937 when they moved to Lansing, Mich. In 1948, the family relocated to Lodi.
Faszer operated a dairy for five years before he went into the construction business for 14 years. Faszer retired in 1965.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Lodi, Faszer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Faszer of Woodbridge; two sons, Donald Faszer and Charles Faszer, both of Lodi; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Polkinhorne of Woodland and Mrs. Leone Beede of Lodi; a brother, Fred Faszer of Seattle, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Aman, Mrs. Pauline Hildenbrand, Mrs. Ella Liebelt and Mrs. Molly Priebe, all of Lodi; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Lodi Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. G.G. Rauser and the Rev. Aaron Buhler officiating. Internment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Contributions in Faszer's name may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
