Mildred F Fleig, 87, of Ferdinand, died at 10:20 pm Saturday, March 17, 2001, at her home from renal failure. She was born June 11, 1913, to John and Gertrude (Seger) Mehling. She married Sylvester B. Fleig on Jan. 25, 1941, at Haubstadt. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1965. She was a member of the Ferdinand Legion Auxiliary, Ferdinand D of I, St. Anns Sodality and Ferdinand Senior Citizens. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs Charles (Judy) Luebbehusen and Sister Mary Judith Fleig, Mrs Vic (Linda) Begle and Mrs Earl (Margie) Jerger; two sons Val J and Rick Fleig; two sisters, Clarissa Fischer of St Meinrad and Estelle Wahl of Dale; one brother, Othmar Mehling of Hungtingburg; 16 grandchildren & nine great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her husband were two brothers, Romus and Cyril Mehling. Services held Tuesday, March 20 at St. Fer- dinand Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sister of St. Benedict or Deaconess St. Joseph's Home Health. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand was in charge of arrangements.
